Preferred Plaster
Client Background: Preferred Plaster provides plastering installation services to builders across Southeast Queensland. Historically, their quoting process involved complex Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for customer quotes and a paper-based system for sending work orders to suppliers. Although effective for years, this system lacked automation and essential integration with workplace health and safety processes.
Challenge: Preferred Plaster sought an automated solution to streamline their quoting and workforce management processes, while also integrating critical workplace health and safety features, such as mandatory job-site safety inspections.
Solution: The Halfway Close team collaborated closely with Preferred Plaster to clearly identify key priorities—highlighting both essential changes and valuable existing processes. The resulting custom solution retains beneficial elements of their original quoting system while significantly automating workforce planning and the distribution of documentation to subcontractors and supervisors. As a result, what previously required an hour to process now takes only minutes with their new, streamlined platform.
Compliance Enhancement: A customized integration with third-party software greatly enhanced compliance outcomes. When work is allocated, staff are now required to complete an online safety inspection before starting any job. These inspections are audited and conveniently accessible within their integrated system.
Results: Preferred Plaster now enjoys substantial efficiency gains, improved safety compliance, and a significantly streamlined workflow, positioning them effectively for future growth.
